Kennedy has a BSc. degree in Forestry (Forest Science & Forest Engineering), from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He has also obtained an MBA degree from Zimbabwe Open University, Zimbabwe.
Professional Work
Kennedy has a wide range of experience in plantation forest management in southern Africa, specifically in Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa. From 2000 to 2007, Kennedy's main focus areas included, among others:
- Planning and implementation of plantation forestry strategic, tactical and operational plans
- Analysis of business units (forestry and sawmilling) operational, financial and quality performance against set organisational budgets
- Strategic resource planning, and
- Management of research and development projects
Kennedy's current focus concerns plantation and native forest management in Australia with a special focus on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Water Management.
Areas of Interests
Kennedy is especially interested in:
- Natural resources management
- Environmental management and planning
- Bioenergy systems
- Small and medium scale enterprise development
